Successful Teaching and Critical Thinking
April 22-26, 2009




From April 22- 26, 2009, the Center for Teaching and Learning conducted a series of
 professional development seminars for DU faculty. 
These seminars were conducted by a team from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Kenneth Bartlett is a professor of history and the Director of the Office of Teaching
 Advancement at the University of Toronto. He is the recipient of seven teaching awards, 
from his home institution, from the Province of Ontario (2007), and from 3M for Excellence
in Teaching in Canada (2005). He has had extensive experience in mentoring and training
university faculty.

Dr. Gillian Bartlett is the founding director of the Certificate Program in Communication 
for Professionals at the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. 
She has been engaged for over thirty years in teaching English at the post graduate, college, 
and secondary levels for students who are both native speakers and those for whom 
English is an acquired language. In addition she has written and edited several books related
 to language teaching.

The seminars consisted of three parts and were attended by 66 faculty members.
